Supporting the healing endeavors of all individuals practicing Reiki in the Midwest
In celebration of the autumnal equinox (the point in time when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun), members of the Midwest Reiki Community gathered once again in Chicago’s Winnemac Park to practice giving and receiving Reiki energy. The cool, crisp air was balanced by warming sunshine and the gentle heat flowing from the palms of the practitioners, as we gathered on blankets on the grass for group and one-on-one healings. Joining many familiar faces were a few first time participants we were pleased to have join in: Duane, Juan, Mouse, Seven, and Gale.
As both the start of the harvest season and the shortening of daylight hours, the first day of fall was a perfect opportunity to reflect on changes in our own lives as well. Transformation was a theme of the day, and was a particularly personal experience for one of our members during her group Reiki session:
“Since his passing 3+ months ago, I have often had visions of my dad’s face flash through my mind’s eyes. The vision has consistently been of him in his hospital bed, unconscious, weak, and fighting just to stay alive. Yesterday, during a Reiki session with some friends from the Midwest Reiki Community, I had a vision of my dad, but this time he was smiling and laughing. I KNOW that he is at peace, but I am thankful to his spirit, to Reiki, to my family and friends, to LOVE, for helping me to SEE that. Baby steps forward.”
Warm blessings to all, and enjoy this season of transformation and spectacular color.
