Supporting the healing endeavors of all individuals practicing Reiki in the Midwest

Reiki for Medical Students

In October of 2013 the Midwest Reiki Community (MRC) was invited to provide mini-Reiki sessions to attendees of the second annual National Student Conference on Integrative Medicine hosted by Northwestern Medical School in Chicago. The conference featured lectures and hands-on yoga, Shamanic journeying and nutrition. Both the MRC and the organizers felt an actual Reiki experience would enhance the attendees’s understanding of what they were learning in their sessions.

We were thrilled with the warm reception and overwhelming interest in Reiki. While 12 MRC volunteer members provided sessions to more than 60 of tomorrow’s doctors over two days, we had to turn another 60 away! The feedback was fantastic as these open-minded students were eager to articulate what they had experienced. Watch the video below to hear these students’ priceless reactions.

It was such a privilege to strengthen the bridge between Western medicine and Reiki healing. If you know of any Chicago-area medical faculty who would be open to Reiki demos or a presentation in their classroom, please get in touch with the Midwest Reiki Community.
